| The mission of the American Business Women's Association is to bring together businesswomen of diverse occupations and to provide opportunities for them to help themselves and others grow personally and professionally through leadership, education, networking support and national recognition. |
President's Message:
“Trendsetter Chapter’s Vision is to be the best we can be! We will strive to understand and satisfy the needs of our members and make it a priority to recognize member achievements, to celebrate member and chapter successes and provide the opportunities to grow with educational programs, networking opportunities and friendship. We promise to support one another and
have fun in the process.”
Inspiration from our Trendsetter vision statement guides our future. This segues into our 2011-2012 theme which is “Share the Past, Build the Future” of ABWA. We contribute to the future of our Trendsetter chapter by building upon the past. For two years in a row, our Trendsetter chapter has shared center stage at the ABWA National Leadership conferences to accept Best Practices Level One awards, the highest ABWA national honor! For 2011-2012, we’ve set the bar high again to “Three-peat”, Pat Riley’s trademark for winning a third championship in a row. I know we can do it and, to quote Pat Riley, “Great effort springs naturally from great attitude” and Trendsetters have just that!
Our Executive Board members Dominique Fruchtman, Nancy Kelly, Doris Wahl, and Lorraine Ohanesian are relatively new Trendsetter members who bring ample business experience to our team. Our eleven Committee VP’s and Co-chairs include our past presidents Sunny Simon (Best Practices Level One), Cookie Harvey (Best Practices Level One), Joyce Godier, and Carolyn Barry and our long-standing members Marge Magnuson, Deborah Ackroyd, Alex Christensen and Bev Licata as well as our new members Barbara Frazier, Lynn Hawks, and Laurie Renner who are all successful business women in our valley. This compliment of extraordinary women who have volunteered for our Trendsetter Chapter Board of Directors will assure our success in the challenges ahead. “Success is peace of mind that is a direct result of self-satisfaction in knowing you did your best to become the best you are capable of becoming,” a quote from John Wooden.
Join us at our meetings soon and experience the Trendsetter hospitality, networking, and inspiration!
Thank you for this opportunity and I look forward to the journey together.
