The mission of the American Business Women's Association is to bring together businesswomen of diverse occupations and to provide opportunities for them to help themselves and others grow personally and professionally through leadership, education, networking support and national recognition.
President's Message:
We begin a new Trendsetter Chapter year, year eight in the ABWA “Decade of Discovery, a Ten Year Adventure”, with the promise of discovering new and exciting ways to grow personally and professionally.
The 2007-2008 theme is E to the Third Power or E3 Engage! Experience! Excel!
That is my wish and my prayer for every Trendsetter, established and new, that we might be bound together, personally involved, and that we excel in every challenge we choose.
Of course, we all know that the mission of ABWA is to grow personally and professionally, but E3 encourages more involvement. In my fifteen years of being a Trendsetter, my involvement has given me opportunity to learn, to know so many people, make good friends, and to hone my skills.
Many join ABWA for the networking opportunities. Trendsetters pride themselves on using and referring member services. Your involvement is key. As we get to know you and your company, service or product, we build trust and confidence in you.
That’s what Engage! Experience! And Excel! is all about.
Engage: to mesh, to bind, to interlock
What a worthy goal. We become stronger the more members we have as we are woven or bound together. We’re want an active membership of fifty plus. That’s the minimum to a good strong chapter, with networking, friends and learning opportunities. Bring your business associates or friends to a meeting so they can promote themselves, their businesses, or just make friends
Experience: to be involved personally
Volunteer, even in a small way. The more you engage, the better your experience and your opportunity to know us and to feel that you belong. Jump into the fray with our fundraisers. You’ll have learning and bonding opportunities. Attend the board meetings, “P3: Party, Plan and Prosper”. Some call it “Club Dine Around”, since members enjoy offering their homes and a bite to eat prior to the board meeting.
Excel! We want Trendsetter Chapter to be the best in all that we do. We will excel in interesting programs, public recognition for our scholarships and other activities, member support, both personal and professional, and in achieving National recognition for our achievements. I am looking forward to an exciting year ahead for all of us.
